  Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim Switches from PDP to APC Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim has departed from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement took place at an event in Abakaliki, where APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje welcomed prominent new members in Ebonyi State on July 13. Anyim, who also served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation under President Goodluck Jonathan, participated in the 2022 PDP presidential primary but received only 14 votes. From 1999 to 2003, he represented the Ebonyi South Senatorial District as a PDP member and was elected President of the Senate during that period.

 Fire reportedly guts Borno Governor Zulum’s office Fire reportedly gutted the Borno State governor’s main office on Tuesday morning. The Governor, Babagana Zulum, was in his second office at the Musa Usman Secretariat when the fire broke out, according to  Zagazola Makama . The security details at the Government House gate barred staff and the press from entering the building, presumably due to safety and security concerns.  Emergency firefighters trooped to the office building to put off the fire.
